Multi-generational Travel

As I mentioned earlier I believe traveling with family is a great way to make lasting memories and to form bonds that bring family members closer. Our first big trip as a family was to Disney World, and I know most of you have heard the saying, half adventure is getting there.  Well its TRUE!  I loved every minute of the trip. Every mile down that road represented a new adventure.   There were 7 of us on that trip. Besides the 4 of us, we brought along my Aunt, her daughter and grand-daughter. We all rode in one SUV, had borrowed at luggage carrier for up top. We slept all in one room like a pack of wolves but, WE HAD A BLAST!

There are Many Benefits to Traveling with Family.

1. Spending Quality Time Together

Admit it, we live in a busy world and sometimes we don’t always pay enough attention to the people who are most important to us. Traveling always helped our family reconnect in a way that nothing else does. Instead of everyone rushing around trying to get ready for school, work or other functions, you can simply relax and enjoy being with each other. When we are traveling its like everybody in the family reverts back to the best versions of ourselves. it's a great way to get in touch with that every few months and connect with each other on a level that doesn’t always happen at home.

2. Bonding with Other Family Members

Family Travel is a great way to bond with family members. Kids bonding with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins. And in turn they all get the benefits of bonding with each other. That is something you can't attach a $ amount to.

3. Save Money By Splitting Costs

Something you can put a $ on is your lodging and food expenses. One of the best things about traveling with family is the ability to save money on lodging. On several occasions, we’ve rented condos, beach houses, or mountain cabins with other family members. By splitting the price of lodging, we’re able to save money in two ways. Obviously, you save money by splitting costs of lodging. But, condos, beach houses and cabins also have kitchens. Instead of having to eat out for every meal, we saved hundreds of $ during the stay, by simply cooking at home.
